Seven COVID-19 fatalities confirmed

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 15,119 after health officials confirmed seven COVID-19 fatalities on Saturday.

According to the Department of Government Information, six persons over 60 years of age and one person between 30 and 59 years were among the COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.32% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are over 60 years, 22.49% of the fatalities are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.19% of the fatalities are below 30 years.

Of the total COVID-19 fatalities, 8,488 are male and 6,631 are female.

Four COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Saturday were male and three were female.
