Changes made to isolation status in Western Province

The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) yesterday announced several changes to the isolation status in various areas in the Western Province.

According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, isolation was enforced from 5 a.m. onwards on Mayura Place in the Wellawatte Police Division as well as several areas in the Gampaha District and the Kalutara District.

Naiduwa in the Kerawalapitiya Grama Niladhari Division and Duwe Watte in the Welikadamulla Grama Niladhari Division of the Wattala Police Jurisdiction, Rohana Vihara Mawatha in the Pattiyamulla Grama Niladhari Division of the Peliyagoda Police Jurisdiction, Welikanda in the Hunupitiya North Grama Niladhari Division of the Kiribathgoda Police Jurisdiction, and Warana Pansala Road, Katthota Road and Hidra Street of the Thihariya and Thihariya North Grama Niladhari Divisions of the Nittambuwa Police Jurisdiction will be isolated until further notice.In addition to this, Wegangalla East and West Grama Niladhari Divisions in the Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariat and Marikkar Street in the Kuda Heenitiyangala Grama Niladhari Division in the Kalutara District has also been newly isolated.

The NOCPCO also announced that Sirisanda Sewana housing scheme, Sirimuthu Uyana, Lakhiru Sewana Railway Apartments and Sirasara Uyana in the Grandpass, Maligawatte and Borella Police Jurisdictions are no longer isolated.

In the Gampaha District, isolation has been lifted in the Kerawalapitiya, Hekitta, Kurunduhena, Evariawatte, and Weliakdamulla Grama Niladhari Divisions of the Wattala Police Jurisdiction and the Pattiya North Grama Sevaka Division of the Peliyagoda Police Jurisdiction.

Isolation status in other areas of the country will remain unchanged until further notice.
