Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 immunisation program on Thursday administered a COVID-19 vaccine dose to 57,121 persons.
A total of 14,524,408 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 11,773,685 persons having received the second dose as well. The Epidemiology Unit states that 54.3% of the 20 to 30 population has received the first dose of a vaccine and 12.8% of the population has received the second dose as well.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), approximately 95% of the population over the age of 30 has received both doses of a vaccine.
“The vaccination of people in the age group of 20 to 30 years and the vaccination of children aged 12 to 19 years, who are with chronic diseases, is being carried out successfully,” the PMD added.
It was also stated that a decision was made by the Special Committee on COVID-19 Control that met virtually yesterday to conduct a vaccination survey in the country.
On Thursday, 15,572 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 31,855 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. A total of 11,637,386 persons have received the first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine and 9,305,354 persons have received the second dose as well.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,466,979 persons, of which 1,261,030 persons have received the second dose as well. On Thursday, 1,420 persons received the first dose of the vaccine and 5,106 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Moderna was administered to 1,320 persons on Thursday and 270 persons received the second dose on Thursday. In total, the first dose of Moderna has been administered to 797,016 persons and the second dose has been administered to 760,203 persons.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 463,937 persons have received the first dose of Pfizer and 291,725 persons have received the second dose of Pfizer. On Thursday, 1,419 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 159 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,090 persons, of which 155,373 persons have received the second dose as well.
