428,535 persons vaccinated against COVID-19 on Tuesday

The first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 428,535 persons on Tuesday and 98% of the country’s population over the age of 30 has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The second dose has been administered to 28.3% of the country’s population over the age of 30. In total, 11,409,475 persons have received the first dose of a vaccine and 3,529,515 persons have received the second dose as well.

According to Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne, 99,373 persons between ages 30 and 59 and 46,672 persons over age 60 in Colombo District have not received a single vaccine dose yet.

On Tuesday, 108,770 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 277,120 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. In total, 9,057,321 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine and 2,646,162 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.

The first dose of AstraZeneca was administered to 30,487 persons and the second dose to 2,447 persons on Tuesday, raising the number of persons to receive the first dose of the vaccine to 1,183,071 and the second dose to 867,811.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 9,315 persons received the first dose of Moderna on Tuesday and a total of 758,251 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine.

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was also administered on Tuesday, with 118 persons receiving the first dose and 278 persons receiving the second dose. In total, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 251,751 persons and the second dose to 1,026 persons.

In addition to this, the first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,081 persons and the second dose to 14,516 persons.
