27 more COVID-19 fatalities raise death toll to 14,232

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,232 after health officials confirmed 27 more COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday.

The fatalities confirmed on Wednesday include 20 persons over 60 years and seven persons between 30 and 59 years. Zero deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, of the total COVID-19 fatalities, 76.54% are over 60 years, 22.28% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.18% are below 30 years. The Epidemiology Unit adds that 7,963 fatalities are male and 6,269 fatalities are female. Nineteen COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and eight were female.
