222,010 persons vaccinated against COVID-19 on Thursday

Over 220,000 persons were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the number of fully vaccinated persons in the country to 1,356,341.

A total of 3,584,651 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

On Thursday, the Sinopharm first dose was administered to 188,368 persons and the second dose to 33,550 persons. Since the administration of the vaccine commenced in Sri Lanka, 2,544,614 persons have received the first dose while 955,252 persons have received both doses of Sinopharm.

The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 925,242 persons. The second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 384,454 persons, including 80 persons on Thursday.

Twelve persons received the Sputnik V second dose on Thursday, raising the number of persons to receive the second dose of the vaccine to 14,464. The first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine has been administered to 114,795 persons.

The Epidemiology Unit adds that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 2,171 persons.
