175 more COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 10,864

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 10,864 on Wednesday with the confirmation of 175 more deaths. According to health officials, 96 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and 79 were female. Of the total death toll, 6,129 are male and 4,735 are female.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.04% of the total fatalities are over the age of 60, 22.8% are aged between 30 and 59 years, and 1.16% are below age 30.

On Wednesday, 139 persons over the age of 60, 35 persons aged between 30 and 59, and one person below the age of 30 were among the COVID-19 deaths confirmed.
