Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,399 after health officials confirmed 27 COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday.
The COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday include 19 persons over 60 years and eight persons between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.52% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are over 60 years, 22.31% of the fatalities are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.18% of the fatalities are below 30 years.
The Epidemiology Unit adds that 8,060 fatalities are male and 6,339 are female. 16 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Wednesday were male and 11 were female.
