Over 14 million persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Sri Lanka with 228,645 persons receiving a COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 14,032,696 persons have received the first dose of a vaccine and 11,306,826 persons have received the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. First dose vaccine coverage in the 20 to 29 population is 40.7% and second dose coverage is 12.6%.
In the population over the age of 30, 96.5% has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
On Wednesday, 122,165 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 31,931 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. In total, 11,182,365 persons have received the first dose of Sinopharm and 9,102,271 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,449,899 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,116,278 persons. On Wednesday, 777 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 33,462 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 2,346 persons received the first dose of Moderna on Wednesday and 220 persons received the second dose. In total, the first dose of Moderna has been administered to 786,600 persons, of which 759,288 persons have received the second dose as well.
On Wednesday, 421 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 89 persons received the second dose of Pfizer. A total of 454,743 persons have received the first dose of Pfizer and 244,082 persons have received the second dose of Pfizer.
The second dose of Sputnik V was administered to 37,234 persons on Wednesday, raising the total number of persons to receive the second dose of the vaccine to 84,907. The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,089 persons.
