Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 immunisation program on Saturday administered COVID-19 vaccines to 148,306 persons, raising the number of persons to receive both doses of a vaccine to 11,593,990.
The first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 14,367,807 persons.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday said COVID-19 vaccination could be made mandatory through legal provisions if required.
On Saturday, 62,385 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 22,800 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to a total of 11,508,035 persons, of which 9,186,672 persons have received the second dose as well.
The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 943 persons on Saturday and the second dose of the vaccine was administered to 24,023 persons. In total, 457,197 persons have received the first dose of Pfizer and 291,411 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,455,283 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,206,491 persons. On Saturday, 2,025 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 25,530 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
78 persons received the first dose of Moderna on Saturday and 42 persons received the second dose of Moderna. The Epidemiology Unit states that the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 788,203 persons and the second dose has been administered to 759,665 persons.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,089 persons and the second dose has been administered to 149,751 persons. This includes 10,480 persons who received the second dose of Sputnik V on Saturday.
