CCC Young Members Forum’s Career Guidance Program reaches Pera University

The Young Members Forum of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, which recently kick started a career guidance program to help the university students, conducted a career guidance program at the University of Peradeniya.

Endorsed by the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Peradeniya, the full day program held at the university premises focused on educating the final year undergraduates on ‘Insight to the world of work’, ‘Writing effective CVs’, ‘How to face an interview’, and also on ‘Developing positive attitudes and entrepreneurship skills’.

“We launched this program in order to lift the knowledge level of the university undergraduates and guide them to choose the right career path and help drive the economy of our country,” said Ceylon Chamber of Commerce CEO/Secretary General Mangala P.B. Yapa.

The program was attended by more than 150 undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya.

The resource persons of the program were Sunshine Holdings PLC General Manager HRM Alex Samuel, Ranmali Wickramasinghe and Pradeep Yahampath of Sphere Academy and Management Consultants Ltd. and Hatton National Bank Head of Personal Financial Services Viraj Mendis. “This program helped our students to gain knowledge about the current job market and existing employment opportunities,” said University of Peradeniya Faculty of Agriculture Senior Lecturer Dr. Chandana Jayawardena.

Young Members Forum of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has partnered with HNB to conduct this program.
