Home to many world-renowned technological innovations, Germany is one of Europe’s most industrialised and populous countries. The German university system too has gained wide reputation for its superior academic standards. Thus, with the aim of enabling access to education opportunities in Germany for Sri Lankan students, ANC Education, a leader in tertiary education in the country, introduced a special pathway program together with Eurasia Institute for International Education. Now local students have the prospect of being directed to university placements in Germany upon completing the first level of the German language course offered by Eurasia Institute in collaboration with ANC Education in Sri Lanka. The Eurasia Sri Lanka university pathway program to Germany was officially launched on June 3rd, 2014 at Cinnamon Grand in the presence of representatives from ANC, Eurasia and German Universities. This program is targeted at school leavers and undergraduates. Beginners will be entered into the first level of the six-level language course of Eurasia Institute offered by Eurasia Sri Lanka. The duration of this course is one and a half months. Following the completion of the first level, students will have the opportunity to complete the remaining levels offered by Eurasia Institute in Berlin, Germany where you can successfully complete the language exams TestDaF or DSH following which you will be entering the universities according to your selection of the subjects. Eurasia is the official testing and training centre authorised to conduct the TestDaf exam. “If a student has completed the Advanced Level Examination, he/she can study in Germany, provided he/she has achieved the benchmarked grades or fulfilled the entry requirements set by the German Higher Education Department. You can select subjects form a wide range of disciplines including engineering, medicine, business, arts or architecture. If you have fulfilled the required criteria to enter the university, Eurasia will make sure they get a conditional offer from a German State university for you. Eurasia will then issue an acceptance letter for the German language and admission for the consecutive Bachelor or Master degree program in Germany,” stated a German University spokesman.  More than 12,000 students from 60 countries have already successfully followed this pathway at Eurasia. Eurasia will assist students from the point of selecting a suitable degree program and in the preparation of all necessary documentation required and all other student services such as health insurance, police registration, visa extension and support and guidance to study in Germany. The reputation Eurasia Institute has gained throughout Europe, as a trusted education partner is what makes this program all the more credible. Furthermore, the program has been endorsed by the German Embassy of Sri Lanka, which is a testament to the quality and acceptability of the programme. Eurasia is part of the Klett Group, one of Europe’s largest education providers. “There are many opportunities for talented young individuals in Germany and this will be a valuable opportunity for Sri Lankan students to get the necessary exposure to the advanced methods of research and development used in the country which will in turn help them to gain a good learning experience. Our aim is to make these opportunities available to talented Sri Lankan students. We think exposing them to such advanced learning methodologies will be a huge achievement for our country,” said Eurasia Sri Lanka General Manager P. Saravanan.
