The annual flagship event of Colombo Scouts kick off on 7 December 2023 and will close on 11 December 2023. 

Colombo Camporee which is the flagship event of Colombo Scouts, is one of the most iconic events in Sri Lankan Scouting history which is rooted with rich scouting traditions. The 58th Colombo Camporee 2023 held from 7 to 11 December 2023 will be declared open on 8 December 2023 by the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony, Secretary to Ministry of Education Nihal Ranasingha. 

Commenting on 58th Colombo Camporee, the District Commissioner of Colombo Amil Abeysundara stated that, “Our aim of scouting is to train young people in character building to become self-dependent and useful citizens to the society and country. Scout training specially in a Jamboree is based on outdoor life linked with the environment and adventure; and skills useful in day-to-day life are taught to scouts. Scouts learn the need for discipline from the time they take the promise.” 

Organizing Commissioner of the 58th Colombo Camporee Shabeen Ahamed who is also the Asst. District Commissioner for Colombo Scouts added that, “This year’s Camporee that is held under the theme, ‘Scouting with heart and mind’ will be a lifelong experience for Colombo Scouts.” 

The Organizing Committee has made all arrangements to host a successful Camporee experience for the Singithi, Cub, Junior, Senior and Rover Scouts of the Colombo District, where they can participate in a comprehensive non-formal educational program mixed with fun and adventure.
