“All three halls can be used independently. And the air conditioned conference hall named ‘Webber’ situated above the coffee shop has seating for seventy. There are days that we host functions in all four halls simultaneously. That’s why Sanaya is the obvious choice for cooperate functions and weddings in Matara,” boasted Resident Manager Deepthi Hettiarachchi who took up the post recently after a ten year stint with Hotel Aloft in Abu Dhabi and Emirate Towers in Dubai.
‘Lalitha Hotel Matara’ which opened in November 2006 was rebranded as Sanaya Mansion in 2011 but it is still popularly known as ‘Lalitha’.
Chef Pushpakumara Pathinayake who has been with the hotel from its inception together with his staff turn out an array of mouth watering Sri Lankan and Chinese dishes including batter fried prawns in sweet and sour sauce but his specialty is the Fish Picata! The coffee shop is open from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and serves a wide range of beverages and dishes.
The Sanaya Mansion which has 28 air conditioned rooms (four family rooms and 24 double rooms) is a convenient stop over for the weary traveller. The forty foot pool is exclusively for in house guests.
