EU-SWITCH Asia Provides training to Galle Face Hotel

Tourism industry experiences a growing trend towards green hotels due to the increasing environmental awareness of guests and businesses.

As guests are better able to access information due to today’s advanced communication networks, they are better able to make more informed travel decisions.



Galle Face Hotel Colombo, one of the enthusiastic hotels working closely with the project, extended a special invitation to the technical experts of the European Union funded EU-SWITCH Asia Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project to provide training to their staff on measures that could be taken to reduce water and

 energy usage as well as waste, where the hotel could preserve the environment and cut the operational costs.  

The project implemented by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has involved more than 190 hotels so far, and continue to provide consultancy and training on such conservation methods which the hotels could combine with strong marketing strategies aimed at highlighting the environmentally sensitive operation methods, will ensure a profitable endeavour in the hotel industry.
