Sri Lanka Embassy in Jakarta woos Indonesia’s travel, media and influencers

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) organised a tourism promotional event with the theme;  “Travel, Media & Influencer Gathering with Sri Lanka Embassy” on 24  February. 

The participants at the event were representatives from reputed travel magazines (inclover, venue), digital travel platforms (via.com, Golden Rama, Panorama), media platforms (Merdeka.com), and social media influencers.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage highlighted the long standing bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and Indonesia including the similarity in culture, and unique experiences Sri Lanka offers to travellers. 

The ambassador explained the current situation in Sri Lanka, giving confidence for tourists to travel to Sri Lanka, the latest international recognitions for Sri Lanka tourism and played a short video on the Ramayana trail and tea trail.

Public Diplomacy Officer of the Embassy Febri Falahuddin presented similarities in the food culture of the two countries by comparing 10 food items available in both countries. The participants showed interest in knowing more about the Adams Peak as well as surfing.

The Embassy was able to educate and encourage the participants to explore Sri Lanka and its beauty and to promote the destination through their media platforms.
