Skywings Travel, a prominent name in the travel industry, is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary on 11 April, marking three decades of unparalleled service and dedication.

Established on 8 April 1994, by Balasubramaniam Pathmabaskaran, a visionary Sri Lankan migrant in the UK, Skywings Travel has etched its name as one of the leading travel agencies in the United Kingdom.

Pathmabaskaran laid the foundation of Skywings Travel and steered its operations until 2017, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and commitment.

Since then, the reins of the business have been in the capable hands of Sai Pathmanathan, also of Sri Lankan origin, who has continued to uphold the values and standards set forth by the founder.

Serving alongside Pathmanathan is Dawn Auwardt Mugunthan, who holds the position of Director within the company. With a shared Sri Lankan heritage, their leadership has propelled Skywings Travel to new heights of success.

At the helm of the sales division is Aruna Jayathilake, Head of Sales, a seasoned professional who has been an integral part of Skywings since 2010.

With his expertise and dedication, Jayathilake has played a pivotal role in driving the company's sales and growth trajectory.

Skywings Travel, headquartered in London, operates with a global outlook, serving customers through call centres based in New Delhi, India, and Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This strategic approach has enabled the company to extend its reach and provide seamless service to clients worldwide. Skywings is blessed with dedicated staff, strengthening over 50 members globally.

Over the years, Skywings Travel has evolved and is on one of the world's leading Metasearch platforms, catering to customers both online and offline.

Despite its global presence, Skywings remains deeply rooted in its Sri Lankan heritage, proudly representing one of the longest-serving Sri Lankan travel agencies in the UK.

The current financial data shows that Skywings closed the financial year ending on 31 March 2024 with a tremendous turnover of £40 million (Rs. 16B).

As Skywings Travel commemorates its 30th anniversary, the company stands as a testament to the resilience and success of the Sri Lankan diaspora in the UK. With a focus on customer satisfaction and innovation, Skywings continues to be a formidable contender in the Sri Lankan travel market, setting benchmarks for excellence and service quality.

To mark this significant milestone, Skywings Travel will be hosting a celebratory event on 11 April, at The Landmark London. The event will be attended by diplomats, esteemed travel partners, long-standing customers, and corporate clients, reflecting on three decades of achievements and looking ahead to a future filled with continued success and growth.

For three decades, Skywings Travel has been synonymous with reliability, trust, and excellence in the travel industry, and as it embarks on its next chapter, the company remains committed to delivering unparalleled experiences to travellers worldwide.
