Heritage Expediciones Ltd., recently embarked on a three-day familiarisation tour to Mahiyanganaya, selecting Keven Casa as their base. The property proved to be a true reflection of Sri Lankan hospitality, offering warm service, comfortable accommodation, and authentic local cuisine that added charm to the overall experience.
This journey was organised in collaboration with The Sri Lankan Experience Zone, a responsible tourism initiative based in Kundasale and led by Dushantha Karunarathna, a seasoned professional in the hospitality sector. His commitment to sustainability and community-based tourism played a vital role in shaping a meaningful and impactful itinerary.
The itinerary featured several standout moments, with the trek to Rathna Ella emerging as a clear highlight. Hidden deep within the forests of Mahiyanganaya in the Uva Province, Rathna Ella provided a breathtaking reward at the end of a scenic and serene hike. The team also enjoyed a cycle tour through Watawana village, which offered an intimate look at rural life, and the visit to Maduru Oya National Park added a touch of wildlife exploration to the overall experience, offering a different perspective on the region’s natural diversity. The visit concluded with a sunrise catamaran ride across Sorabora Lake, followed by a scenic breakfast atop Sorabora Rock, where the rising sun cast golden hues over the surrounding landscape.
