Cinnamon appoints Shavinda Jinadasa as Commercial Director for Sri Lanka Resorts sector

Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts yesterday announced the appointment of Shavinda Jinadasa as Commercial Director for its Sri Lanka Resorts sector. 

In this newly elevated role, Shavinda will assume overall strategic direction and positioning for the sector, bringing the Sales, Marketing and Revenue functions together under a single commercial mandate across all nine resorts in Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts’ Sri Lanka Resort portfolio.

In his new capacity, Shavinda will be responsible for shaping the sector’s commercial strategy, aligning revenue and distribution, deepening key market and trade relationships, and ensuring consistent brand positioning as the Sri Lanka Resorts sector of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts continues to grow its share of leisure, MICE and luxury travel demand into Sri Lanka.

Shavinda brings over 15 years of experience with Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, having built an accomplished career across both the Colombo Hotels and Sri Lanka Resorts sectors. Beginning his journey as a Sales Executive with Keells Hotel Management Services, he has steadily progressed through a series of senior sales and marketing leadership roles, most recently serving as Director – Sales and Marketing for the Sri Lanka Resorts sector prior to his new appointment.

Throughout his tenure, Shavinda has played a pivotal role in strengthening the commercial performance and market positioning of the resorts portfolio. He was instrumental in establishing and growing the Luxury and Lifestyle segment within the Sri Lanka Resorts sector, helping expand the portfolio’s appeal to high-value traveller segments while driving strategic sales initiatives and enhancing the brand’s presence in key international markets.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business Administration from Birmingham City University and is an alumnus of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia.

With extensive experience across both the Colombo Hotels and Sri Lanka Resorts sectors, and a strong understanding of the business, Shavinda is well positioned to support the continued growth and success of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts’ Sri Lanka Resorts portfolio.
