Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection has introduced ‘Addarahena,’ a farm-to-fork initiative designed to integrate sustainable agriculture into its operations while strengthening local sourcing and community engagement.

The resort’s on-site organic farm now supplies seasonal vegetables directly to its kitchens, supporting a shorter supply chain and reducing reliance on external sourcing. Guests are also able to engage with the initiative through guided harvesting experiences that highlight the journey from cultivation to consumption.

As part of the initiative, the property has also launched ‘Ambula,’ a dining concept centred on traditional Sri Lankan village cuisine. Set within a rustic mud-house environment, the offering focuses on regional flavours, locally grown produce, and traditional cooking methods, positioning indigenous food culture as a core element of the guest experience.

‘Addarahena’ is supported by a closed-loop waste management system, where garden and garden waste is converted into organic compost for use on the farm. Excess compost is shared with community spaces, including the Bentota Police Station garden, extending the environmental and social impact of the initiative.

Through ‘Addarahena,’ Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection is embedding sustainability into its operational model while enhancing its value proposition around responsible tourism, local procurement, and authentic destination experiences.
