Ceylon Chamber to host ‘Power of Interaction’ networking evening today for tourism industry

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will host the first event in its ‘Power of Interaction’ networking series – ‘An Interactive Evening with the Tourism Industry’, on 8 August, from 6 p.m. onwards at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. 

This event will serve as a platform to explore new trends and collaborative opportunities with industry experts and gain an enhanced understanding of emerging trends from key industry stakeholders and experts. Participants will also have the opportunity to network, learn from industry veterans, and foster partnerships that will enable them to collectively navigate the evolving landscape of the industry. 

The Chief Guest at the event will be Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando. Ministry of Tourism and Lands Secretary H.M.B.P. Herath, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Chalaka Gajabahu, Connaissance De Ceylan, Le Cube Chairman Chandra Wickramasinghe and Director Maxime Wickramasinghe, and Jetwing Hotels Ltd. Director Hashan Cooray, will participate as panellists. 

The event will explore emerging trends in the tourism industry, such as sustainable, experiential, and digital tourism, which present both promising opportunities and formidable challenges for the industry. To fully capitalise on the new trends and overcome the challenges, investments in infrastructure, capacity building, and marketing are deemed vital. Renowned speakers from the tourism sector will share their insights, ideas, and experiences on how to embrace sustainability, authenticity, and quality as guiding principles to propel the industry towards recovery and long-term growth.
