Cabinet nod to collaborate with Nas Daily to create content for Sri Lanka Tourism

The Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday has approved the production of a series of three videos in collaboration with Nas Daily highlighting Sri Lanka’s appeal for tourism and investment.

Under the Nas Daily banner, famed Arab-Israeli content creator and entrepreneur, Nuseir Yassin will create engaging content that showcases Sri Lanka’s unique offerings via three planned videos on ‘Waterfalls in Sri Lanka’, ‘The craziest train ride in Sri Lanka,’ and  ‘Why invest in Sri Lanka?’.

The announcement was made by Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, who shared that the Cabinet has given its approval for this collaboration, with the Finance Ministry overseeing the project.

“The collaboration was approved by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Board, but since it is not a tender and a single person is being picked as to his reach and views. Therefore, we had to seek permission from the Cabinet of Ministers,” Minister Fernando told the Daily FT.

The Minister also noted that Yassin has bought a villa in Sri Lanka and that is what inspired them to create content in the area of attractive investment opportunities.

“His videos can easily captivate around 25-35 million views,” Fernando added. Yassin’s contribution to promoting Sri Lanka has not gone unnoticed. In 2020, he released a video titled ‘The Most Generous Country during COVID’, which showcased the country’s resilience and compassion during challenging times.

Minister Fernando said the collaboration between Nas Daily and Sri Lanka presents an exciting opportunity to reach a global audience and position the country as an attractive destination for both tourists and investors.  “Through engaging storytelling and visually stunning content, Yassin’s videos have the potential to inspire curiosity and generate positive exposure for Sri Lanka’s natural beauty, rich culture, and investment potential,” he added. With Nas Daily’s expertise in crafting captivating narratives and his extensive global following, Sri Lanka stands to benefit from the heightened visibility and positive perception generated by these videos. 

Analyst says it is also a testament to the country’s appeal that it continues to attract attention from influential content creators like Nas Daily, further solidifying its position on the global stage as an enticing destination for both leisure and investment pursuits.
