Beruwala Resorts PLC yesterday said it will temporarily close operations at The Palms Hotel Beruwala from 1 May to 30 August 2026 to undertake refurbishment and operational upgrades.
The closure is intended to facilitate planned improvements while maintaining service standards and enhancing the overall guest experience.
Beruwala Resorts PLC said its Board of Directors has evaluated the impact of the decision and does not expect the temporary shutdown to have a material adverse effect on the company’s long-term performance. It added that cost management measures will be implemented during the closure period.
The hotel is expected to resume operations on 1 September 2026, with the company stating it will keep the market informed of any further material developments. The company’s share price closed unchanged yesterday at Rs. 3.50. Its assets amounted to 39 cents per share as of end-December 2025. Beruwala Resorts is controlled by Colombo Fort Hotels Ltd.
