Four leading Australian social media influencers concluded their highly impactful journey across Sri Lanka on 1 September, following nearly two weeks of immersive exploration and promotion. The initiative, organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), aimed at positioning Sri Lanka as a preferred long-haul travel destination for Australian travellers, has already generated remarkable global visibility.
The influencer group featured Sheridyn Fisher, a lifestyle and wellness creator with 490,000 Instagram followers and 3.4 million Facebook followers; Ashley Parker, a dynamic TikTok star with 2.5 million TikTok followers and 252,000 Instagram followers; Cerys Lily, a nurse-turned-travel creator with 215,000 TikTok followers and 40,000 Instagram followers; and Ella DelNore, a multi-talented digital nomad and eco-travel advocate with 194,000 TikTok followers and 56,000 Instagram followers. Collectively, they brought an audience reach of over 9 million followers.
During their visit, the influencers explored Sri Lanka’s most iconic destinations, including Negombo, Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temple, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella’s train ride, Nine Arch Bridge, Yala National Park, Mirissa, Galle Fort, Pasikuda Beach, Madu River Safari, Ahungalla Turtle Hatchery, Lotus Tower, and Port City Colombo. Their journey captured Sri Lanka’s rich blend of heritage, wildlife, beaches, and modern developments.
The campaign recorded exceptional social media engagement, with posts, reels, and stories attracting hundreds of thousands of interactions. Notably, each influencer saw a significant increase in their follower base, with thousands of new followers gained during the journey, expanding Sri Lanka’s visibility to an even larger audience.
Officials from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau highlighted that this promotion was designed to target the Australian market, where younger, experience-driven travellers are increasingly seeking authentic, diverse, and sustainable destinations. The influencers’ creative storytelling and authentic experiences are expected to inspire more Australian travellers to select Sri Lanka as their next holiday destination.
This initiative marks another successful step in SLTPB’s strategic shift towards content-driven digital marketing, positioning Sri Lanka strongly on the global stage and supporting the island’s continued tourism growth and recovery.
