Andrews Travels Ltd., Sri Lanka, and Saigontourist, the largest tour operator in Vietnam, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance tourism cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

The agreement was signed by Andrews Travels Director Shanil Kariyawasan and Board of Saigontourist Chairman Nguyen Huu Y Yen.

The partnership aims to promote increased tourist exchanges between the two countries through joint marketing campaigns, travel trade cooperation, destination promotions, and the development of new tour packages for both leisure and business travellers.

Speaking on the occasion, Kariyawasan said that the collaboration marks an important milestone in strengthening tourism and business ties between Sri Lanka and Vietnam, especially with the growing interest among travellers in exploring new Asian destinations. Yen emphasised that Sri Lanka has strong potential as a destination for Vietnamese travellers due to its rich cultural heritage, scenic beauty, wildlife, beaches, and hospitality. He further noted that the partnership with Andrews Travels would create new opportunities to expand tourism cooperation and connectivity between the two nations.

The MoU is expected to pave the way for closer collaboration between the travel industries of Sri Lanka and Vietnam and contribute positively towards regional tourism growth.
