NDB signs MoU with Clean Ocean Force to enhance privilege banking offering

Partnering with Clean Ocean Force - Lifestyle Banking Philanthropy Project


 

NDB Bank, a leader in privilege banking in Sri Lanka, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a ‘Lifestyle Banking Philanthropic Offering Programme’ with Clean Ocean Force Lanka (COF).

Signing for and on behalf of National Development Bank PLC were Vice President – Branch Network Management and Product Development Zeyan Hameed and Assistant Vice President – Privilege and Privilege Select Banking Gihan Punchihewa. Chairman/Founder Jerome Fernando signed for and on behalf of Clean Ocean Force. Based on the recently signed MOU, NDB will provide Lifestyle Philanthropy services to enable its customers to easily donate to a charity project of their choice offered by COF. The funds will go directly to the scale-up the present operations of a number of beaches and will facilitate the addition of new beach locations to the daily clean-up process, whilst providing a livelihood for the under privileged communities. 

Commenting on this partnership and on the NDB Privilege Select Plus offering, NDB Vice President Zeyan Hameed said, “We at NDB aim to provide a conclusive and holistic offering to our customers through Privilege Select Plus. Philanthropy services is one such tailor made offering in which we provide our clients with a carefully laid out path in which to continue their donations.”  Clean Ocean Force Chairman/Co-Founder Jerome Fernando thanking NDB said, “The move made by NDB is highly commendable with NDB becoming the first bank in Sri Lanka to partner with COF. Sharing a common goal of environmental sustainability, the partnership between NDB and COF will be a milestone in our island nation’s beach and ocean conservation, which is the need of the hour.”

COF is a non-profit organisation based in Sri Lanka working towards eliminating plastic, man-made pollutants, and other debris that enter the Indian Ocean through the various rivers and waterways around the country. COF was initiated by Jerome Fernando and Thorsten Knekties with an aim to make an impact on marine life and the beaches of Sri Lanka, while driving a lasting socio-economic change in the lives of disadvantaged communities. 

Identifying philanthropy as a long felt need of its Privilege Select Plus clientele, the bank took steps to add it to its offering whilst understanding the busy lifestyle of customers.
