Vidyartha school boy Thilina Wijesiri stamps his class

By Shamseer Jaleel Schoolboy from Vidyartha, Thilina Wijesiri was in top class form winning the singles title against Udaya Ranasinghe, while Praveena Silva from Girls High School Kandy made her mark felt when she won the Open Ladies Singles title at the 3rd Annual Sakuna Challenge Trophy Central Province Table Tennis Championship 2014 organised by the Kandy District Table Tennis Association and sponsored by Sakuna Holdings. This event was conducted at the Jagath Rajapakse International Table Tennis Stadium, at Peradeniya. In the open men’s singles finals was between Thilina Wijesiri and Prasad Silva. Thilina went on to win 2 sets to 1. Praveena Silva, though receiving a major set-back in the girls under 18 singles event losing to Ochini Dissanayake of Mahamaya Girls College Kandy 3 sets to 1 bounced back in grand style in the Ladies Singles Open event by winning 3 sets to nil win over Ochini.
