TISL to discuss ‘Un-sporty sports’

At a time when crisis in numerous sports in Sri Lanka is the hot topic of debate, Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) has arranged to discuss the subject on Thursday, 27 February at the OPA auditorium. ‘Un-sporty Sports’ will be the theme of the discussion which will focus on ICC new rules and governance challenges to sports administration in Sri Lanka. The panellists at the discussion will be Parliamentarian and World Cup wining captain Arjuna Ranatunga, senior lecture at Peradeniya University Dr. Prasanna Perera, former director of the College of Sports Yogananda Wijesundara, Attorney-at-law J.C. Weliamuna and National Olympic Committee Chairman Hemasiri Fernando. Deryck Murray – former West Indian wicket keeper batsman also will speak through Skype. The discussion is being held under TISL’s Sambhashana program. TISL invites the sport-loving public to turn up at the OPA, Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha off Bauddhaloka Mawatha Colombo 7 at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, 27 October.
