Sri Lankan girls qualify at Asia-Oceania World Junior Tennis Tournament

The Sri Lankan Girls Under 14 team lost to Vietnam 1-2 in the finals of the prequalifying tournament held in Kuching, Malaysia and claimed the second spot on the last day of the Asia-Oceania Zone World Junior Tennis Tournament played under the aegis of the International Tennis Federation.



In the earlier matches, the Sri Lankan team beat Turkmenistan 3-0 and Kyrgyzstan 3-0. Both Sri Lanka and Vietnam have now qualified for the final qualifying event scheduled for 15-20 April in East Malaysia.

The Sri Lanka Girls Under 14 team comprised Medhira Samarasinghe, Rukshika Wijesuriya and Serena Madanayake with non-playing captain Sankha Atukorale.
