forces. The 70 km race began at the Piliyandala junction. It then went through Horana, Meepe, Padukka, Kottawa, Homagama and ended at the Piliyandala Junction to a rousing welcome.
The overall winners in the Men’s and Women’s events won cash prizes of Rs. 65,000/- and Rs. 50,000/- each. Those who came second and third in both events won cash prizes and a rice cooker each. A gas cooker and a pedestal fan were presented to the winners from fourth place to tenth place.
