Murali game for more Twenty20

Legendary Muttiah Muralitharan has said that he will continue playing Twenty20 cricket for two or three more years before retiring altogether from international cricket though he had indicated earlier that he would be retire from all forms of international cricket after next year’s World Cup.

“I have already retired from Test cricket and will retire from one-day cricket after the World Cup early next year. I want to continue playing Twenty20 cricket for another two or three years. After that I’m not sure what I want to do but I want to continue to be involved in charity foundations. I might do some social work in Sri Lanka. I certainly won’t be going into politics,” Murali was quoted by Australian newspaper “Courier Mail” as saying.

However earlier media reports claimed Murali to have said “I have decided to play in the Australian tour and the World Cup, and after the World Cup I will retire totally from international cricket,” Muralitharan at a gathering earlier this month while speaking at a function at the Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai, India, where he was felicitated for his world record haul of 800 Test wickets.
