Lasith Malinga was recalled to the country for an intense training program and since he had shown a tremendous improvement in his fitness levels in the said training program the national coaching staff together with the national selectors took the decision to release him to play in the Big Bash.
As per the special request made by the management of the Melbourne Stars to SLC, Lasith Malinga was given permission to proceed for the semi final which will be played on 4 February 2014.
