The corporate solutions arm of premier telecom service provider, Dialog Axiata, is a proud partner of professional golf in Sri Lanka, first sponsoring the country’s top golfers Mithun Perera and Kandasamy Prabagaran for the fourth consecutive year since 2013.

The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club concluded its Annual Club Championship held since 1933 during the Independence Day weekend with over 60 amateur golfers participating. A highlight of this year’s tourney was the increased participation of ladies in several categories. These included the Ladies Club Championship, the Ladies Bronze Trophy, and the Lady Captain’s Trophy; while the men’s tourney included the NEGC Club Championship, Annual Gold Medal, Division A, B & C Trophies, Men’s Seniors and Sylvester Vase Trophy.

In August 2014, Dialog Enterprise sponsored the club’s 125th Anniversary tournament, which featured over 100 golfers from all parts of the world. The company together with the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club is working to promote the sport amongst Sri Lankan youth, whilst the former also assists the club and its membership with connectivity and satellite entertainment solutions at the premise. Established in 1889, the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club is the second oldest golf club in Sri Lanka & the third in the world outside of UK with a Par 71 course. Dialog Enterprise entered into a three year partnership with the club in October 2015.

Dialog Enterprise Group Chief Officer Jeremy Huxtable adds: “We are delighted to be the official patron with a classic sport like golf, and to be associated with the prestigious Nuwara Eliya Golf Club and its annual championship. Dialog is synonymous with promoting sports and talent in Sri Lanka, and we are pleased to note the growing popularity of golf in Sri Lanka and look forward to power more tourneys in the country.”
