Buraque Travels remains unbeaten for the 2ndsuccessive year

The 6th AmCham-A&E Bowling Tournament 2015 organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham) was held on 28 November at the Excel World, Entertainment Park, Colombo 10. 

A total of 32 teams took part in this year’s tournament and the event was conducted in two preliminary rounds. The top four teams with the best scores were selected to play in the third and final round. A team comprised five members with a compulsory female member. 

Buraque Travels emerged Champions and remains unbeaten for the second year of the AmCham-A&E Bowling Tournament with a final score of 723 points. Screen Line Holdings “Team A” was the 1st runner-up with 713 points and Screen Line Holdings “Team B” was adjudged the 2nd Runner-up with 659 points. 

Hussain Khaleel of Buraque Travels won the Best Player – Male award with 209 points while Jacqueline Fernandez of Screen Line Holdings “Team A” was awarded the Best Player – Female award with 130 points. The Best Player – Male/Female was selected from the final two rounds.

AmCham President Asanka Ratnayake stated that it was encouraging to see corporates participating each year. He believes that an event such as the AmCham Bowling Tournament provides an opportunity for members of the staff of Corporate Institutions to network through sportsmanship.  He further thanked American &Efird Lanka Ltd., the Platinum sponsor of the event, for coming forward to support AmCham in conducting a successful bowling tournament.
