Zimbabwe head coach Rajput tested COVID-19 positive

Head coach of the Zimbabwe cricket team that arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday has tested COVID-19 positive.

The detection was made after the Zimbabwe squad and support staff arrived in Sri Lanka and were subjected to PCR tests at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

Measures have been taken to separate Rajput from the rest of the squad and place him in solitary quarantine.

The PCR test results of the cricketers and other staff members were returned negative.

Prior to leaving for Sri Lanka, Rajput, a former Indian opening batsman had stated that he was confident that Zimbabwe could beat Sri Lanka in the ODI series.

The series commences at Pallekele on 16 January.
