  • Science College edge out D.S. Senanayake College 37/36 in thriller
  • Kingswood College in convincing win over Prince of Wales’ College

Zahira College, Science College, and Kingswood College recorded impressive victories in Week 7 of the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2026, setting up an exciting conclusion to the season.

In the Cup segment, Zahira College defeated Wesley College 38/24 at Havelock Park after producing another clinical attacking display. Zahira crossed for six tries and added four conversions to maintain their unbeaten run. Wesley responded with four tries and two conversions but were unable to match Zahira’s intensity in the decisive moments.

The result sets up a blockbuster League decider next weekend at Maradana when Zahira take on unbeaten defending champions Trinity College. The winner of that encounter will be crowned the 2026 Dialog Schools Rugby League champions.

In the Bowl segment, Science College edged out D.S. Senanayake College 37/36 in one of the most thrilling matches of the season at the Science College Grounds in Mount Lavinia. Science scored five tries, three conversions, and two penalties, while D.S. Senanayake crossed the line six times with three conversions. A late penalty proved the difference in a dramatic one-point victory for the home side.

Meanwhile, Kingswood College produced a dominant all-round performance to overwhelm Prince of Wales’ College 39/5 at Ratmalana. Kingswood controlled proceedings from the outset, running in a series of tries while restricting their opponents to a solitary unconverted try to complete an emphatic Bowl segment victory.
