Zahira College produced a resilient and disciplined performance to win the Under-14 All Island Elite Schools Rugby Cup segment, overcoming Wesley College 5/0 in a tightly contested final at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele.

Played under persistent rain and slippery conditions, Zahira adapted better to the challenges, using structured defence and smart territorial play to seal the title.

Ananda won the Plate, while the Antonians clinched the Bowl trophy and Mahanama took home the Shield.

With a total of 32 teams locking horns in the two-day event across Digana and Pallekele, this year’s tournament once again highlighted the impressive depth and promise of Sri Lanka’s junior rugby talent. (SJ)
