Winning start for DS and Wesley

Both D.S. Senanayake College and Wesley College started off their Dialog President Trophy Knock-out Pre-quarters encounters with a winning start yesterday in Colombo.

Wesley beat Joes 36/23 at Royal Sports Complex with the winners collecting their points from 6 tries and 3 conversions while Joes scored their 23 points through 3 tries, 1 conversion and 2 penalties. At the short breather Joes led 18/17. The game was refereed by Raveen Alexander.

DS went passed a fighting performance by Rajans 48/29 at Havelock Park. Winners scored through 8 tries, 4 conversions while Rajans scored through 5 tries and 2 conversions. At the short breather it was the Rajans who led 17/12. The games was officiated by Jeewaka Fonseka.

Today, there will be four matches down for decision in Colombo. Thomians will meet Science at Longdon Place with the kickoff at 4 p.m. while at the same venue, Trinity will lock horns with the Antonians later in the day under lights.

Zahira will meet Vidyartha at Havelock Park and the fourth and last game between defending champions, Isipathana and Sumangala Kandy will take place at the Royal Sports Complex. Both these games be kicked off at 4 p.m.
