Winning start for Cops in Super Round

Police SC delivered a commanding performance to defeat Sri Lions SC by 39/12 at the Air Force Grounds in Ratmalana.

From the kick-off, Police SC asserted their dominance, controlling possession and territory while applying relentless pressure on their opponents. Their structured attack and defensive discipline ensured Sri Lions SC had limited opportunities to threaten their line, and injury worries for more than seven of their players put them on the back foot.

At the short breather, the Cops led 18/12.

Police scored their tries through Deshan Fernando, Yohan Peiris, Shehandu Costa, Bihanga Pavithra, and Vihanga Shaveen. Yohan put over four conversions and two penalties for the Cops. Meanwhile, for debutants Sri Lions, their two tries were scored by Denuwan Silva and Dushmantha Priyadharshana. Anurada Silva did one of the conversions accurately.

Referee Sarath Madugalle controlled the game.
