Second-placed United Southern SC suffered a setback to their chances of finishing runner-up to SSC in the Tier B 3-Day League when they lost on first innings to Army SC in their match concluded at the Army Grounds, Panagoda on Sunday.

Having gained a 31-run lead over United Southern SC in the first innings, Army SC closed their second innings at 262-7, leaving United Southern SC with a target of 294 to chase.
