Unbeaten Havelock Sports Club will host another unbeaten outfit in the League, Air Force Sports Club today (19) at 3 p.m. at Havelock Park in what shapes up as one of the most decisive encounters of the league phase of the Inter Club rugby encounter.

With both sides firmly in contention for a top-four finish, this clash could play a major role in determining qualification for the Cup segment in the Super Round.

Havelocks come into the match after a steady start to the season, opening with a hard-fought draw against Navy before producing a confident win over Sri Lions. Led by Skipper Sandesh Jayawickrema and Vice-Captain Janidu Fernando, with key contributions expected from Abdullah Faiz and Azmir Fajudeen, the Park Club outfit will rely heavily on home support under the guidance of Coach Saliya Kumara.

Air Force Sports Club, however, have arguably been the most consistent side so far. The Ratmalana-based outfit has registered convincing wins over Army, Police and Navy, displaying discipline, structure and clinical execution. Led by Shanaka Werella and backed by Shamika Kaushan and Gayantha Iddamalgoda, the airmen carry strong momentum into this encounter. They are coached by Asela Deshapriya.

While Air Force may hold a slight edge on form, playing at Havelock Park presents a stern challenge. The atmosphere, conditions and intensity often favour the hosts, making execution under pressure crucial for both teams.

With both sides unbeaten and chasing a top-four finish to secure Cup segment qualification, fans can expect a fiercely contested battle where discipline, tactical awareness and composure will ultimately decide the outcome.

The referee will be Raveen Alexander.
