Trinity College Old Boys regained the G.C. Wickremasinghe Trophy after edging Royal College Old Boys 5.5 points to 4.5 in the 11th edition of Bradby Golf, played at the Victoria Golf Resort, Rajawella.
More than 60 golfers representing the two schools took part in the annual event, which has become a popular prelude to the Bradby Shield rugby encounter. Royal, however, secured the Victoria Bowl after accumulating 156 Stableford points from their best five scores, comfortably ahead of Trinity’s 140 points.
From 2027 onwards, the tournament will mirror the Bradby Shield rugby series by being played over two legs. The opening leg will be staged at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, while the grand finale will continue at the Victoria Golf Resort, creating more playing opportunities for golfers from both schools.
Plans are also underway to introduce a schoolboys’ Bradby Golf competition from 2028, to be held alongside the main event, further enhancing the tournament’s standing in Sri Lanka.
This year’s tournament was powered by VISA for the first time, with Softlogic Life, Yeti Nutrition and C Golf as partners, while ThePapare provided live streaming coverage.
