Trinity retain Lakshman Kadirgamar Trophy

Trinity College retained Lakshman Kadirgamar Trophy by beating S. Thomas' College at their annual inter-school golf encounter which took place recently at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

This encounter was played in memory of the late Foreign Minister and celebrated alumnus, Lakshman Kadirgamar.

Trinity pipping S. Thomas' to win 2/1 on the series after an all-out battle at this thrilling encounter. Hemanga Karunasena carded 40 points for Trinity, whilst Janeeth Akmeemana carded 37 points as top scorer for the Thomians.

Trinity College was led by Surain Prematilake, while S. Thomas' College was captained by the experienced Shiran Zoysa.

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Trophy, inaugurated to celebrate the sporting camaraderie between the two esteemed institutions, has grown in popularity and prestige over the years. The awards ceremony and gala dinner that followed was graced by, Chief Guest for the evening, Suganthi Kadirgamar.

The tournament was sponsored by 20Cube Logistics, who are the sponsors of the event for the past two years.
