Defending league champions Trinity College continued their unbeaten run in the Dialog Schools Under-19 Rugby League 2026 with a commanding 41/10 victory over D.S. Senanayake College (DSS) in their Round One Week Four encounter worked off at Police Park last weekend.
The Trinitians once again displayed their attacking strength, running down seven tries while adding three conversions in another polished performance. DSS managed to cross for two unconverted tries, but Trinity controlled proceedings from the outset to maintain their unbeaten record in the League competition. Though DS started well in the 25 minutes of the initial half, they failed to convert territory into points and paid the cost in the end. Once settled, Trinity playing minus four of their regulars looked a champion outfit.
Isipathana College also stretched their unbeaten streak with an emphatic 40/12 win against Sumangala College at Pallekele.
Isipathana produced six tries and five conversions in a dominant display, underlining their title ambitions early in the season. Sumangala replied with two tries and a conversion, but struggled to contain the Green Shirts’ fast-paced attack. The Greens are looking at coming to peak at the correct time as they will face the Lions in their next game in Colombo.
In Group Two, Wesley College preserved their unbeaten record after overcoming St. Joseph’s College 23/10 at the CR & FC Grounds.
Wesley scored three tries, one conversion, and two penalties to seal another valuable victory, while the Josephians managed two unconverted tries.
St. Peter’s College were pushed hard by Ananda College before emerging winners 34/32 in one of the closest encounters of the weekend at Rajagiriya.
The Peterites touched down for six tries and added two conversions to remain unbeaten in the tournament, while Ananda fought bravely with four tries, three conversions, and two penalties.
Separately, Mahanama College defeated Prince of Wales College 28/20 at Ratmalana, while S. Thomas’ College overcame Zahira College 35/26 in an entertaining Group Three clash at Maradana.
With all teams moving to their last first round game, defending champions Trinity, Isipathana, Wesley, and St. Peter’s remained unbeaten. Two more teams will likely lose their unbeaten tag by the completion of the first round.
