The stage is set for an action-packed weekend as the Trade Finance Association of Bankers (TFAB) gears up to host its much-anticipated Cricket Sixes tournament, sponsored by SALOTA International Ltd., for the third consecutive time, scheduled to take place on Saturday (24 May) at Thurstan Grounds Colombo 07. With teams from across the banking industry confirming their participation, cricket enthusiasts are in for a thrilling display of fast-paced matches, explosive batting, and nail-biting finishes.

The tournament follows the popular “Six-a-Side” format, known for its high-octane gameplay where each team comprises six players from trade departments of banks, and matches are typically limited to five overs of five balls for each side. The categories are Main Category, and friendly matches for Over-40 Age Category and Women Only Category. This promises non-stop entertainment and plenty of fireworks with the bat and ball.

Association President Shyam De Silva said: “The Cricket Sixes is not just about competition, but also about bringing the community together. We’re thrilled with the response we’ve received so far, and we look forward to a day of great sportsmanship and celebration.”

The event will feature many teams, with group stage matches in the morning followed by knockout rounds and a grand finale in the evening. Trophies, medals, and exciting prizes await the champions, runners-up, and standout performers of the day. The winners will receive the ‘Trade Finance Association of Bankers – Challenge Trophy’ Spectators can also look forward to a festive atmosphere, with food stalls, music, and family-friendly activities on the sidelines.
