Tough times for Lankans at Asia Pacific Golf Championship 2025

The second day of the Asia-Pacific Golf Championship (APGC) in Hong Kong proved challenging for Sri Lankan golfers Reshan Algama and Adhithya Weerasinghe in Hong Kong yesterday.

Reshan had an ordinary Day 2 finishing six over par for a gross score of 146 ending on 16th overall end of Day 2. Adhithya finished with a five-over par round, tallying a gross score of 154, which placed him in 29th position.

Thailand’s Sarasmut Parin, who delivered an impressive five-under par round, bringing his gross score to 134 and propelling him into a tie for first place alongside Vietnam’s Nguyen, who also boasts a score of 134.

In the team event, Sri Lanka’s boys’ squad slipped to 13th place, narrowly ahead of Myanmar and host Hong Kong.

Today will be the final day and Reshan will need to put up a brave effort in order to get into top 10 while Adhithya too expected to deliver a good comeback performance to put Sri Lanka in a good position.
