Thomians win in high-scoring game

S. Thomas’ College put on an impressive all-round performance to secure a thrilling 50/35 bonus-point victory over Mahanama College in their Dialog Schools Rugby League Week 3 clash at Ratmalana.

Sadly, their defence was all over, where the newcomers into top division rugby Mahanama replied with five converted tries.

The Thomians, who have been in fine form throughout the season, continued their unbeaten run with a dominant display, notching up seven tries and converting six of them, along with a penalty to take their tally to a formidable 50 points. Their attack was relentless, and their ability to maintain composure under pressure proved crucial.

Mahanama, to their credit, showed plenty of heart and responded with five converted tries, staying in the contest for large portions of the game. However, the Thomians’ superior structure and finishing ability gave them the edge in the end.

With this win, S. Thomas’ not only remain unbeaten but also claim a valuable bonus point as they cement their place among the league’s top contenders.
