Thomians edge out Antonians

S. Thomas’ College fought back brilliantly in the latter half to beat St. Anthony’s College 28/27 in their Inter-Schools Under-19 rugby encounter, which concluded at the CR & FC Ground in Longdon place under lights last night.

At the short breather, it was the Antonians who led 22/7. 

With this win, the Thomians retained the Father Angelo Rosati Trophy for yet another year.

The Thomians scored through four tries and an equal number of conversions, while the lads from Katugastota scored through four tries, two conversions, and one penalty. The Thomians dominated the second half by scoring 21 points, while the Antonians could reply only with a solitary try. The Referee was Ishanka Abeykoon. (SJ)
