The third round of the Sri Lanka Open Championship 2026 concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday, with the battle for the title narrowing down to three leading contenders from a field of 22 golfers who made the cut.

N. Thangaraja emerged as the new leader after an impressive third-round score of 66, taking his aggregate to 202 after earlier rounds of 68 and 68. His consistent performance over the three days has placed him in a strong position heading into the decisive final round today (29).

Mithun Perera, who held the early lead after the opening round, slipped to second place on a total of 205. Perera carded rounds of 66, 69, and 70, remaining within striking distance of the leader despite a comparatively slower third day.

Reshan Algama stayed in contention in third position with a total score of 206 following rounds of 68, 68, and 70.

With only four strokes separating the top three players, the final round promises an exciting finish as the golfers battle for top honours at the prestigious championship today.
