Nadaraja Thangaraja stamped his authority at the inaugural Professional Golf Tournament, producing a superb three-round aggregate of 209 to emerge champion at the Rajawella on Thursday.
Thangaraja displayed remarkable consistency throughout the tournament, combining accurate driving, sharp iron play and confident putting to finish a commanding ten strokes ahead of the rest of the field. His dominant performance reaffirmed his reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s leading professional golfers.
Lalith Kumara finished as runner-up with a total score of 219 after three steady rounds, while Chalitha Pushpika claimed third place on 223 following another composed display. Chanaka Perera secured fourth position with an aggregate of 224, and experienced campaigner Mithun Perera rounded off the top five with a score of 226 after battling through a closely contested final round.
